@A_Sword_of_Truth: Ive seen many vids of that same scenario (probably that one, as well). So much for that high Asian IQ...lol The pedestrians and the drivers both seem oblivious to one another.
The Chinese do that because the moment you 'get involved' in someone else's issue they can legally scam your home from under your feet depending on who the Police think is at fault. Some Chinese do it to each other and they don't have the insurance systems or welfare like we do in the West. Simply helping someone you don't know could destroy your life. If you're a foreigner in China you are especially vulnerable and the Govt can even stop you leaving the country if you have a 'debt' from 'helping' someone.
This is not Chinese being heartless. It is a system which causes people to become more cautious than doing mouth to mouth during a fake CoVid pandemic. Westerners do it too. Don't throw stones. No one cares when you die out of sight unless they can spin it into a 'news' story anyway.
