That is incorrect. It's knowledge of the Self that leads to the type of wisdom you are referring to. You've never heard the phrase "man, know thyself and thou shalt know the universe and God"? I'm going to guess you lack much or most of the knowledge relevant to how much there is of you, as a being, that's intangible, non-physical that you have yet to explore, get to know, come to master (should you endeavor to such heights), or any other thing. Things like your mind, your emotions, your psychology, your beliefs, your perceptions, your spirituality, your sexuality.. all non-physical aspects of you that you would get to know more intimately, if you did an exploration of the self. I'm going out on a limb here, but that's just a guess. The path out of the hell realm is within. The path to "God" is within. Most spiritually advanced people say all the answers you could ever want or need are within. Well...if all that stuff is within, so why is everybody so focused on some God that's "without". It's your choice to believe what you've been told or to abandon those beLIEfs, that may have been given to you by somebody that didn't actually know for themselves, and discover the truth for yourself.. because you are capable.and discover it for yourself. You can lead a man to knowledge but you cannot make him think.

Wisdom requires discipline. Knowing what to do and doing it are two very different things.

Relevant to the 'doing it' part. That's all in the internal 'action' button. That generally works for all humans as follows....Emotions, impact thoughts, and thoughts impact actions and as the natural laws determines, your thoughts, emotions and actions create your reality. Thoughts, emotions and ACTIONS (doing it) are the basis of the triangle of manifestation. No action. No manifestation. It's an issue of human "will". There is so much power in the human WILL, when we can tap into it without fear, especially when we're congruent in mind, emotion. What humans can really do is well, rarely seen. The emotion drives the human WILL to take ACTION!!
EXAMPLE: If I walk up to you and kick you right in the shins...that'll produce the emotional charge in you (anger) that drives your human will to take action towards kickin my ass for such douche-baggery . In that scenario, while it was my kick to your shin that caused the whole thing.....i basically sparked your WILL and your WILL fully engaged and said to take action to kickin my fuckin ass. See whudda mean? The spark that sets off the human WILL, a lot of times is the power from an 'emotional charge'....that'll kick the ol'will into action. We ALL need a healthy dose of motivation juice to kick the collective will into ACTION. Without my sparking your will in that scenario....how do you spark your own will to action? Putting the bong down is a good start. LOL!! Self discipline is developed also through YOUR "will" to exercise discipline in yourself. At the base of 'self discipline' is you choosing to exercise your WILL. Perhaps you should consider doing a deep dive into the Human Will? Never know what you might learn.

@The Rebellious Meat Puppet: I've read / listened to books on manifestation, so I definitely know what you are talking about. If I'm being honest, then I would say the limiting factor in my case has been motivation. Although I feel I've accomplished a lot in life, in relative terms, I haven't achieved my potential. Anyone that knew me would think I am crazy for not being happy. It's not that I'm not happy, just lacking the fire that I should have, in that sense.

TLDR: I'm lazy AF. Or I'm not, but feel like I am..
