one fighting style is not superior to another. it depends who's doing the fighting.

Disagree! Mma is the superior style because it takes the best and puts them to use in actual combat. Most other styles are completely useless.

@Gen. Nathan Bedford Forrest: if you had a scrawny weak man doing mma and he went up against a muscular guy that knows aikido, the mma guy is going to get his ass kicked. his punches and kicks aren't going to do shit with such little power.

@bannedforhatespeech:

If you want to make some case like that where some seven foot dude takes on a four foot dude then of course it doesn’t matter what the little guy does! The seven foot dude could be in a wheelchair and still win! Anytime you have any sort of similarity in fighting mma will always win. Akido is useless and pointless.

@Gen. Nathan Bedford Forrest: The REAL Akido guys are the descendants of Japanese Samurai families and the Samurai were never known to fuck around when it comes to their martial arts. Their code of ethics prevents them from participating in fighting competitions like MMA so you have likely never seen a real Akido master fight. They don't fight - they just take control.

Even brazilian jiujitsu has been eclipsed by mma. By mma i mean a mix of not only the finer points of bjj, but also wrestling, muay thai, boxing, and kickboxing, and to a lesser extent judo, and karate. The swan song for bjj as an art form in itself was when royce gracie fought Matt Hughes and was systematically torn apart. Its been shown on numerous occasions that bjj on it's own won't win you fights in the octagon.

To be fair, the MMA guy was in much better shape, younger, bigger, and more muscular. Granted the MMA guy probably would have won anyway. But this was so unbalanced it was over in seconds.

If any akido guy was capable of fighting we would have seen him in the mma ring. Akido in and of itself was originally meant for sword fighting not fist fighting.

@Gen. Nathan Bedford Forrest: I think Akido was taught on a Japanese island when the Samurai denied the people the Right to carry weapons - so they trained to disarm and kill those carrying weapons with their hands. Real Akido masters are surely dangerous and nothing to toy with but that soy master is clearly not a warrior type.

@Spectralwulf:

I have seen plenty of these so called masters and none of them are any match against a professional mma fighter.

@Gen. Nathan Bedford Forrest: A true Akido master can quickly injure/disable someone or break their bones - so they can't really participate in sport fighting with their full abilities. Akido takedown moves are similar to Judo - which MMA has plenty of. Adept Akido training is something army special forces might use to quietly disarm or kill an enemy sentry and leave his neck broken. It was originally meant to be lethal hand-killing.

@Spectralwulf:

I will have to completely disagree. There is not one single move that akido has that would be of any benefit in a fight. It’s a worthless martial art for hand to hand fighting. Not one self respecting elit military unit uses it and if they do they should stop immediately because it’s useless. There is not one single video on the planet that shows akido to be useful in any fights. If it was effective we would have some video of it in action.

Hahahaha! Yeh, that nigger clown. That dude shows exactly why I don’t like blacks. Always niggers like to show off even if it’s to their detriment.

@Gen. Nathan Bedford Forrest: I once watched a series of police training videos taught by an Akido master that showed the police a number of excellent takedown moves and submission holds - many of which are identical ones used by Judo or Jujitsu MMA fighters. To witness the full effectiveness of Akido, you would have to see a fight break out or a murder occur. The ones trained to kill with their hands are not likely to participate in a sporting competition. They don't really fight - they just break your arm, leg, or neck. The original training was a way for the unarmed to kill the armed. It was meant for killing not sport.

@Spectralwulf:

Ohhhhh! You mean those same cops who get beaten to death when they get into fights with niggers? Yeh, they are taking their life into their own hands by training a worthless martial art.

@Gen. Nathan Bedford Forrest:
Silva nigg trolled Segal, and Segal being Segal (drowning in hubris) bought into it and agreed that he "invented" a technique that has been around since the dawn of time..., Lol!!! As karma would have it silvas "front kicking" leg suffered for it!!

@Gen. Nathan Bedford Forrest: How can it be worthless if MMA fighters use the same moves?

@Spectralwulf:
There is no aikido or kunfg fu master on the planet today that would survive against a professional mma fighter. However, there are NUMEROUS videos of aikido and kung fu masters being completely destroyed by mediocre mma fighters...

@Spectralwulf:

Not one single mma fighter uses akido! They use a combination of wrestling, BJJ, Muay Thai, boxing, and kick boxing. There is no akido anywhere in mma.

@Deemax: If they are forced to fight within a set of rules, then only the strength and skill of the fighter matters. If sports allowed you to deliberately injure your opponent then Akido would be of more use.

Gen. Nathan Bedford Forrest

@Spectralwulf:

You got it backwards. There are rules in akido because it’s worthless when there are no rules! In mma the rules are to prevent the fighters from killing each other which is what would happen to any akido guy! It’s absolutely hilarious to think that some akido guy would be able to do anything other than shit up blood from the mma guys punches. That’s if the mma guy lets the akido guy live!

@Gen. Nathan Bedford Forrest: An Akido fighter trained for MMA would be no different than the other martial artists that are already in the MMA. An Akido fighter trained to kill Samurai with their hands is another story. That's why Samurai learned Akido moves in case they dropped their weapon.

@Spectralwulf:
Allowing a "no rules" fight would allow an mma fighter to correspondingly fight with an even greater arsenal than the extensive tool list he already has. 'Sports' already allow you to cause fairly extensive damage and deliberately injure your oponent. The only reason why they don't go 'no rules' in most competitions today is because it would limit the life span of an expensive commodity (their fighters), but that's not to say that if push came to shove mma fighters couldn't fight just as effectively against anyone else in a 'no rules' environment. Aikido and kung fu have been lost in time and superceded... they're fine enough against the uninitiated, untrained, and the street noob, a great form of exercise and meditation, but they have been eclipsed...

@Spectralwulf: <br> <br>Hahaha! Laughable! There has never been one single bit of evidence on this planet of any fight against an mma fight and winning! It’s a fantasy dream! Also akido people are not fighters, they are martial artists. There is a big difference! A fighter kicks the shit out of people while a martial artist is someone who pretends to be a fighter!

@Gen. Nathan Bedford Forrest: MMA fighters ARE martial artists - conditioned and trained to fight by the rules of the ring. Most of them surely know ways to fubar a person in a street fight but they can't use such crippling and deadly moves for a friendly competition. Most adept Akido masters are Japanese so you are unlikely to see a real one fight in the ring against larger white and black fighters. The only way they could win is by deliberately injuring their opponent which is against the rules.

@Spectralwulf:

There are no deadly moves in akido! It’s a fantasy! You want real life you go to mma. Get any akido guy and mma in the same weight class and the mma guy will shove the akido guys head up his ass and roll him off the mat.

@Gen. Nathan Bedford Forrest: Mixed Martial Arts includes Akido moves along with ones from all the other disciplines. Some California hippy taking an Akido class doesn't make him a trained, conditioned fighter. There is nothing wrong with Akido as a martial art, it's just as good as the ones already prevalent in MMA. Good old American wrestling that we learn in school is among the best martial arts used in the MMA ring. Here's a video of a suspicious MMA fighter investigating Akido. You'll see real moves being used that you can't deny are pretty slick. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=evL12aRAE7M
