In Croatia,theres this Greek or Italian pole in the middle of the city square,where people like that would get tied,and rotten vegetables and fruits thrown at them,one tomato throw would be four kuna,a little more than half a euro.I think we should bring punishments like that back.Let me explain why its beneficial,it raises moral of the city at the cost of one individual,knowing justice is served,the people get a good look at the face of the "criminal." Making the people know he/she is trouble.Birds feed on the waste,meaning more birds means less mosquitos.Thats all i could thing of,for now.

@Wordsoftruth1488: That is if they are tougher than most males,it would not work as good,the thug/criminal will power trough and continue his spree.Did i mention they were left for a week or three days without food or water on that pole?That is if the crime was extreme.A human can survice three weeks without food and one week without water,before degradation of the body settles in,also the elements,wind,rain,sun.And to add to that the center of most Croatian citys is near the sea,so salty wind cracking up your skin....Uhhh i'll rather take a few whip lashes than that.If the crime was average the "prisoner," yes a prisoner would go to the cell over night,to get fed for another day of being ridiculed,some didnt have the luxury of that and guards stood watch over night so nobody hurts the criminal,accept them having some fun,a fist throw and a knee kick,nothing too sever to be visible to the body...Like a blacki eye,or bruises,some tongue pulling.Now thats a fun way of mocking somebody.
