This is in response to the video about Paul McCartney's jew ladyfriends. It seems Lennon had second thoughts about selling his soul to satan.

If you remember, Mr Lennon also once said "Jesus was alright, but his disciples were thick and ordinary."
I'm reading Acts at the moment, and I came to the part where Peter was in Joppa following on from his blessing with the holy spirit, and he was asked to visit a lady called Tabitha, or Dorcas, who was one of the disciples well known for her good works, but she had died.
So Peter went, and put all the weeping souls out of the room, and knelt down and prayed, and Dorcas sat up, and Peter gave her his hand, and she arose.
Now I am not sure what John's definition of "thick and ordinary" was based on, but this event seems to turn it on its head.

I wouldn't take that comment seriously, if I were you. Most likely Lennon never bothered to actually read the Bible for himself, like you are doing. So it's pointless to argue with people over something they know nothing about.

@dino:

I wouldn't argue with him, but just tell him that story, and see what effect it had on him.

@HereAmI: Peter walked on water too, but for non-believers that's all just fairytales, like Snow White and the Seven Dwarves.

@dino:

The point being, of course, that if JL thought the disciples were "thick and ordinary" on the basis of the scriptural account, then he should acknowledge that exactly the same account shows them later on as being most extraordinary.
He can't have it both ways.

@HereAmI: It's a pointless discussion. In the end, Peter denied Jesus three times because he feared for his life. In that sense, Lennon is correct. So just don't worry about it, or otherwise you could end up in a semantic discussion that goes nowhere,

@dino:

My point though is that Peter completely changed; from being "thick and ordinary" and even a denier of Christ, to being a true servant of God, and endowed with extraordinary power through his faith; and as such, giving evidence for being a new creation in Christ.
So this is not just arguing about words, which is what semantic means; it is pointing out a fundamental flaw in Lennon's thought processes.
His observation was what is described as tendentious, ie he picked Peter before his rebirth to make a point about Christianity generally; but as I am pointing out, there is another side to Peter which he deliberately failed to mention, because it destroyed his thesis.
This therefore is only a "pointless discussion" to those whose minds are already made up, and whose minds cannot be changed by appeal to reason; or those who shut down such deeper discussions because they expose them to a reality which they do not wish to contemplate or acknowledge.
But this of course is standard atheistic practice.

@HereAmI: I don't understand what you are going on about. Peter denied Jesus on the night of the Last Supper. Are you saying that Peter was not reborn until after Jesus' Resurrection? That seems a bit unlikely, since Peter was the one who first recognized Jesus for who He was, and Jesus subsequently deemed him the rock upon which He would found His Church, Just calm your titties, and stop worrying about what some musician said half a century ago about a topic which he probably knew next to nothing about.

@dino:

What I am "going on about" is what happened in Acts, when the disciples were gathered together in an upper room, and the holy ghost, which had been promised, fell upon them.
From that time on, the disciples began to preach boldly of Christ, and His resurrection.
It is clear that something very profound happened then, which had not happened before.
The apostles and the disciples began to speak in tongues; they preached boldly and were beaten for it; and in Peter's case, he then raised up a man who had been sitting at the Beautiful Gate of the Temple paralysed, and he walked; and then the event with Dorcas occurred.
This has nothing to do with John Lennon except inasmuch as his remarks are instructive, and serve to speak even today to those who twist the scriptures to their own destruction, as Peter also stated they would do, and so these things have a relevance which is timeless.

@HereAmI: Of course Scripture is twisted. It is done all the time. Just remember that the devil knows the Scriptures like the back of his hand.

@dino:

The twisting of scripture, as you say, is done by satan and by his agents in the world; my purpose is to untwist it, so that we start to see who Peter became, rather than concentrating, as John Lennon did, on what he was.

@SmackUrApocolips: You think it's a bot? That would be an achievement for WTV! The intelligence services deem this platform important enough to send in the bots!

@SmackUrApocolips: A bot is an account that posts messages based on an algorithm. So it's an AI account. The accounts that you are referring to are so-called sock puppet accounts, which are run by humans and are aimed at radicalizing other people, posting disinfo, sowing confusion, or just dumping large amounts of nonsense in order to bury good info.

@SmackUrApocolips: I think White Night is ok. The message looks a bit garbled probably because he typed it on his phone and had the auto-correct on.

They can simply be replaced if they displease their Jewish show business managers. There seems to be a difference with Lennon, Jones, Clapton etc. who had fairly based private views, and vaguely hinted at these in public.

They were basically opportunists, not necessarily masons. But yeah, the entertainment industry is a joke overall. Looking up to musicians or comedians won't get us anywhere, that's for sure.

You gotta admit that Lennon's nose was a bit suspicious. Most people in the North-West of England don't have that shape of nose.
