Looks like the throttle or steering cable broke, his left hand on the throttle makes no sense. Definitely hit his head on the side screen rail, lucky he didn't kill them all.
It looks to me like he hit his head on his right side and it happened so fast the camera didn't get it. He was out! BTW I hate boats!
