I stayed at this place along the river most of the day this summer to enjoy the view. I had to walk down the Thorton Taylor Parkway and turn onto the gravel road next to the US Army National Guard facility to get to this part of the river. It was once called Dearden Mills, this bridge. One day it fell with a car on it into the river and the road was dismantled and stopped being used though it had provided a short cut through the town of Fayetteville. I found a duck nesting here I like these old places a person can go to get into nature. I shortened the video to make a collage of bridge places for video.

Wow! This is called The Dearden Bridge and it used to have a road running through which would allow you to travel through Fayetteville TN without having to drive through the city. One day a car went off the bridge and the entire road was closed. This bridge sits behind the Army National Guard facility but right beside a community of well-to-do homes where Blacks live. These Blacks live well and deal in drugs and prostitution and the only Whites that go out there are those women who can't get anywhere with a White man. It is a beautiful location on the river though. On the far side of this bridge is land owned by the High School and someone very wealthy. Whoever they are they sit atop their land with automatic shotguns and they kill all deer they see such that the deer are few there now. We have about 3 people to die of drowning in this river every year. Those who live here swim the river even though it has sinkholes and places that will pull you down and keep you down. Most of it is no more than waist high and you can walk the length of the river until you come to the fast moving parts.
