I like it. Thankyou
Theres about 4 minutes of dead air from about the 35 minute mark until the 39 minute mark...which Id forgotten about. Thanks for the listen!
@theliquidatedrabbi: I was no bother , thankyou
@Nemesis: De nada...
@theliquidatedrabbi: I meant it not I lol
@Nemesis: I realized what you meant...
@theliquidatedrabbi: just testing lol
@Nemesis: Mmm hmmm, sure, sure...haha
@theliquidatedrabbi: haha l I know you know lol
@Nemesis: Ive been getting lots of those little squares in my comments, as of late. I have no idea what they are or if my security is blocking them from me...
@theliquidatedrabbi: I got a few the other day too , i dont know what it means . They dont show at first but if i go back to reply to a comment i see them . But also I've been blocked out twice , i couldnt comment for 4 days the first time and the second for nearly two days . It's weird.
@Nemesis: Your prior comment was nothing but two little squares...no words or such. This has been appearing quite a bit, lately.
@theliquidatedrabbi: oh that's a bit different to what happened to me . I got a message to coz and he fixed my problem , well the one where I couldnt comment . I think when the site gets overloaded it does weird things. Coz might know what it is ?
@Nemesis: I think he mustve let my restrictions go as far as uploading. I had reached my limit a while back and hadnt bothered uploading until recently. Obviously, I can now upload, once again...and I havent forgotten about uploading a video of making some moonshine/liquor...as I said I would a bit ago.
@Nemesis: Speaking of uploading...when are you going to post a vid?
@theliquidatedrabbi: oh that's good , hes ok like that . I remember you said you were going to do that :-) I tried some of the neighbours home made whisky out of courtesy. It tasted like burnt washing up liquid lol
@Nemesis: Haha...someone didnt make their 'likka' properly. Was it, actually, a distilled spirit or just some homemade beer or wine?
@theliquidatedrabbi: it was whisky but it looked like concentrated pee :-) it was very weird . I tried loch lomond whisky before and that tasted off as well lol
@Nemesis: OK, I looked up Loch Lomond and it was what I figured it would be...Scotch. Im no fan of Scotch. I like bourbon whiskey, but not Scotch with its burn peat taste...blech. I made a batch of bourbon, once...well, it was destined to become bourbon but it came off the still so tasty I drank it as white liquor (corn squeezins'). It tasted like buttered popcorn...not that microwave crap...real popcorn. Needless to say, it didnt last long...it was a hit amongst my friends...
@theliquidatedrabbi: oh so scotch is a different thing? So the neighbour must have done scotch then as well . The absolute worst is teachers whisky , that tastes like lighter fluid! Have you heard of it ? I think it's fairly cheap compared to other whiskeys. I'm not sure if they say on the labels that some is scotch and some is whisky !!! What's the difference ?
@Nemesis: Ive no idea what 'teachers whiskey' is (Ill have to look that up). Bourbon is whiskey made in a certain region of the Appalachians (Kentucky, which was a part of Virginia in the early Colonial times, Virginia, and Tennessee, primarily). Bourbon has a far different malt bill (recipe) than Scotch. Scotch has more rye and also has peated malt (which I cant stand the taste of). A good bourbon is worth its weight in gold...for me, anyway. I enjoy drinking various things...making those things is as much fun as drinking them.
@Nemesis: I looked up the Teachers Whisky...its Scotch...peated and smoky...
@theliquidatedrabbi: it must be the peat that makes it taste burned. You know what it reminded me of ? Compost in the bin , it goes really hot and smells like the Congo. You can get all kinds of kits to make things, my daughters man tried making lager once but it was very flat !
@Nemesis: Two beardy weirdys drinking cheap Scotch...lol
@theliquidatedrabbi: And, they mention spicy flavor...thats from the rye...rye gives a peppery/spicy flavor to booze.
@theliquidatedrabbi: I think they review other whiskeys too . Maybe they try to imply whisky drinkers have beards lol do you think you wouid like the teachers ? It's very harsh , it catches the back of your throat. My mother used to drink it with green ginger and she turned into godzilla !!
@Nemesis: No, I wouldnt like the Teachers...its Scotch and I do not like the taste of burnt peat, aka, Scotch. I dont care for whiskey made with a large share of rye in the grain bill, either. Rye makes for a spicy/peppery taste that I dont care for in liquor. I prefer the vanilla-like tastes provided by toasted oak when a bourbon has had time to age properly. When the weather cools, this will be one of my projects.
@theliquidatedrabbi: you have to do it in cool weather? Does it go off quickly if you make it in the summer ? Which shop bought ones would you recommend ? My son in law loves a decent whisky and very likely scotch I'm sure , hes mentioned single malts , not sure what he means . It's for his birthday that I want to get him some . But I just usually pick a bottle that looks pretty
@Nemesis: Single malt means its not blended (blended is cheaper whisky). I cant recommend anything simply because I havent a clue as to what is available to you. If you want To spend a few 'dollars' for a decent bourbon from the US... https://www.bookersbourbon.com/batches/
@theliquidatedrabbi: oh thanks , il have a look and see if they have it here. I don't trust the post , they will open it or drink it or replace it with shampoo or something. I have to get it for next week too . The single malt is the cheap one . Ok I had it the wrong way round ,
@Nemesis: I had to change the link... If he likes good bourbon (which, by law , only comes from the US he may like the Bookers). If hes a Scotch fan, I dont know what to tell ya'...lol
@theliquidatedrabbi: oh its lagging again! It's been bad all day today , it was ok for a few hours earlier , now it's getting stuck . l see if they do the bookers here, hes definately had bourbon before but I dont which one . I think its quite dear. , thankyou hel be impressed if I manage to get some :-)
@Nemesis: Its quite good but youll be spending a bit on it... Get him to mend your hedges, or something, to make up for the cost and his birthday present...lol.
@theliquidatedrabbi: oh he did that last week in exchange for a chicken pie and a cheesecake:-) I just looked and the cheapest bottle is 50 pound ! I saw a bottle called old rip van winkle and it was nearly 8000 pounds !! That's a rediculous amount of money !
@Nemesis: https://youtu.be/2EQbaZ4Gm_M. They did a review on the bookers but they take ages to get on with it . I'm practically growing a beard waiting for the to say something useful!!
@Nemesis: 50 pounds isnt that much...although, it may be a bit much for a present for someone to drink. Good stuff isnt cheap...which is why Im making my own and learning how to make different things. If you will, though, buy that bottle of Rip Van Winkle and ship it on over to me...lol Ill give you a review which you can capitalize on to get your 'investment ' returned. haha
@Nemesis: Dont lie...you were already sporting a beard...lol
@theliquidatedrabbi: oh no lol you know my secret haha🧔🧔🧔
@theliquidatedrabbi: oh ok il do that , il buy two one for you and one for me . Itl come in handy for bartering when the economy collapses lol
@Nemesis: Im watching the vid of the Bookers...the seal has been broken before they made the vid. They already realize how good it is...lol
@Nemesis: Ill settle for a couple hundred pounds of barley, wheat, corn, and rye...and some yeast, of course...
@theliquidatedrabbi: that's cheeky of them tasting it before they talk about it . It's got good reviews I might get it for him then , he deserves something nice now I know what to get . :-)
@theliquidatedrabbi: well I've got two packets of yeast in the cupboard , you can have that for a start :-) dont know about the other stuff though, itl take a while to grow it !!
@Nemesis: Its very good...these two idiots reviewing it are talking about adding water. Ummm, no...throw a few ice cubes into a nice double old fashioned glass and fill it with the bourbon...let the ice cubes marinate for a couple of minutes and sip away. Its quite nice, indeed...
@Nemesis: Haha, yeast...Ive pounds of various yeasts...so, get to growing the barleys, etc...Ill trade some finished product for a hundred pounds of malt...haha
@theliquidatedrabbi: oh my son in law goes off it if its watered down! One time I put some lemon juice in it and he just shook his head in disgust lol I was just trying to dampen the taste of wet grass!!
@Nemesis: Dont get between a man and his liquor!...lol
@theliquidatedrabbi: oh well I thought I had a good start with the yeast there lol il get on with planting the malt tomorow then , 200 ibs is an awful lot though. I've got some weights thats 2.5 kilos and they're quite heavy . I dont think il be able to lift 200ibs. I might invest in a donkey as well to carry the weight.
@Nemesis: All I can say is...get it done!...haha
@theliquidatedrabbi: well I learned my lesson lol he said an absolute definate no no and I'm banned for life. I'm not allowed to go near any of his plonk . :-)
@Nemesis: Thats probably for the best...lol
@theliquidatedrabbi: I like how I've been landed with all of the work lol ok then il give you an update in due course:if all goes well that is !!!
@Nemesis: Come on, now...growing the grains is the easy part. Turning said grains into a suitable drinkable product takes much work. Ill make you a bet...you send me a half a ton of good barley, wheat, corn, and rye, and Ill send you the best gallon of bourbon youve ever tasted...Now, hows that for a good deal?...lol
@theliquidatedrabbi: ok then , it sounds like a good idea , especially since I'm not up to par at picking stuff from the shops !! Could be a good earner too , :-) I should get a lot of bottles from gallon I think . At least say 50 or something :-)
@Nemesis: Yes, 50ml bottles, easy...
@theliquidatedrabbi: I'ts sticking, too ,me this long to get back on I got a 404
@Nemesis: 404s are a dime a dozen for this site...
@theliquidatedrabbi: true kol
it has a good beat and it's easy to dance to...
